VIBRANT AND VITAL VTC
Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 1982, has always been at the forefront of vocational and professional education and training (VPET). As a statutory body, we exist within Hong Kong education system to ensure the skills of the Hong Kong workforce remain fresh and future ready. Our mandate to provide VPET is vital in meeting industry needs, and in fulfilling the aspirations of the quarter of a million young people and in-service workers who attend a programme every year at one of our 13 member institutions. Pro-Act Training and Development Centre (Electrical)

Requirements:
(a) A recognised higher diploma in Building Services Engineering, or equivalent;
(b) At least 9 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry;
(c) A registered Electrical Worker;
(d) Preferably a valid Licensed Plumber and extensive experience in design / installation / testing and commissioning / operation and maintenance of building services systems such as fire service systems / plumbing and drainage systems / building automation, etc.
(e) Good supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills, and good administrative and leadership abilities;
(f) Good language proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and
(g) The ability to pass a trade test.
Major Duties :
(a) To assist in overseeing the daily operations regarding programme and academic management, resources management, staffing, finance and procurement;
(b) To assist in leading / coordinating programme teams;
(c) To develop and maintain networks with the industry and related associations;
(d) To develop and review syllabi and curricula of training programmes and schemes;
(e) To assist in overseeing student administration, support and services, including student recruitment, admission and placement;
(f) To report and monitor the implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures and assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;
(g) To plan and oversee installation, operation and maintenance of training facilities and equipment;
(h) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;
(i) To act as Stream Leader and serve in Boards of Examiners and other academic / management committees and work groups as required;
(j) To coordinate special events and organise skills competitions, when required; and
(k) To perform teaching duties, update teaching and assessment materials where necessary.
Notes :
(1) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in the Requirement (a) but possessing 16 years’ work or teaching experience may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
(3) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
