Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with and assist the Head of Finance to enhance the efficiency and strength of the Finance Team
  • Supervise the work of the subordinates of the Finance Team members
  • Assist in month-end closing processes including preparing accounts breakdown, bank accounts reconciliations and adjustments for discrepancies
  • Review office payments, petty cash payments and staff reimbursements
  • Prepare billing and collection reports and calculations of commission payments
  • Prepare monthly management reports including billing report, accounts receivables and payable list and WIP report
  • Monitor matters / files opening and closing processes, including conflict checks
  • Assist in annual audits and tax filings
  • Advise and liaise with secretaries with any billing issues
  • Assist in project implementation (ERP systems)
  • Handle debt collection and credit control functions, regular communication with matter partners & managers & local finance team on debts status
  • Perform other ad hoc projects and requests as required

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Accounting from a recognised university
  • At least 5 years of experience in Accounting function in a supervising role
  • Audit experience or experience dealing with external auditors
  • Experience in using Elite (Enterprise or 3E), Aderant or other ERP systems is preferred
  • Experience in project implementation (ERP systems)
  • Responsible, independent, detail-oriented, well-organised and able to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (spoken and written English)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Proactive with good interpersonal, communication and able to work independently
  • Law firm experience is preferred but not essential
