Job Description

RESEARCH AND INNOVATION OFFICE
Senior Manager (Ref. 22061030-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide secretarial and administrative support to different research-related committees administered by the Office, in particular the Area of Excellence Committee (AoEC);
(a) liaise with other stakeholders, including other administrative units, committee members and academic staff of the University, and externally, other universities, government agencies, research institutions and industrial partners in research-related matters;
(b) supervise junior staff members;
(c) submit research-related reports;
(d) provide general support to the section of Major Projects and General Support of the Office; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognized degree;
(b) with at least eight years of relevant experience at managerial/supervisory level in administration and committee communication such as drafting committee papers and minutes;
(c) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and fluency in Putonghua;
(d) have good knowledge of committee management and administration with related experience;
(e) be able to demonstrate good analytical and management skills;
(f) have good interpersonal and communication skills;
(g) be a good team player, dedicated to work and have a positive can-do attitude;
(h) be proactive, innovative, highly independent and motivated;
(i) be able to work under pressure and meet tight schedules with project management capability; and
(j) have good computer literacy and be willing to learn.
Candidates with more managerial experience may be considered for the post at Band 8.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
