A challenging opportunity has risen in our Global Core Operations team to support our IPO services (Initial Public Offering). 

With more and more companies listed in Hong Kong Stock Market in the last couple years and the number of companies is gradually increasing every year, Hong Kong becomes one of the major IPO market. It attracts various investors such as Global Investment Bankers, Hedge Fund, Asset Management, Individual Investors to participate in the IPO activity. Furthermore, it creates a lot of roles to relevant parties such as Lead Underwriter, Book Runners, Law Firm, Accounting Firm, Registrar, Receiving Banks, Brokerage House, etc. This is one of the financial drivers to stimulate the economy in Hong Kong.

Computershare is taking leadership role in Registrar in this IPO sector and we are one of the key contributors to the IPO Market. Computershare is continuing to review and improve our service level to match the market standard from time to time.

A role you will love

The Senior Manager for IPO Support will be focused on the Hong Kong IPO Market and the task include successful delivery within agreed timeframes and quality standards. This role will be responsible for managing the IPO process from Pre-Opening Date, Opening Date, Closing Date and before Listing Date and needs to assist to resolve the issue from the root cause, ensuring team member complete all task before cut off time.

The Senior Manager will work closely with his manager to assist on the projects and take ownership to any Ad Hoc issues, participate in call related to IPO activity and give guidance to the team members and maintain high quantity of delivery. Time management is also critical as the team member must fulfil the regulatory requirement within deadline.

This role is also expected to work collaboratively with internal such as across teams within the same department or cross department and external parties such as receiving banks, HKMA, etc., and supporting continuous improvement and project related items.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:  

  • Assist team head to supervise the team in supporting the operational issues with area in IPO Support
  • Prepare data files and reports to clients, banks, vendors and other third parties arise from different kinds of operations process
  • Monitor the team to ensure all the operations flow are delivered accurately and timely according to the requirements
  • Participate in UATs assigned from time to time
  • Review and maintain the operation guidelines to ensure all details are updated
  • Recommend area of improvement to the team leader
  • Streamline the processes in the team to increase the overall efficiency
  • Co-ordinate with other departments to ensure all the jobs assigned can be delivered smoothly and properly
  • Provide timely support to stake holders for any ad-hoc/special requirements

What will you bring to the role?   

The Senior Manager must keep a good relationship with all working partners and recommend area of improvement to the team head. Enthusiastic, flexibility and passion would be essential to the role.

Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Degree holder, major in Finance or related subject
  • At least 10 years of experience in Finance industry or registry industry with 5 years in managerial role
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-minded
  • Control-oriented and diligent
  • Proactive, work independently under pressure
  • Team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in PC skills including MS Excel, Word and Access
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Cantonese, good command in Mandarin will be an advantage
  • VBA Programming Knowledge will be a plus
