Responsibilities:

• To ensure that all vendors’ invoices are recorded properly and promptly in the Accounts Payable
• To review and monitor the aging of creditors and ensure payments are effected on time
• Review payment batches prepared by different departments
• Review invoice payment requests, includes validating the data and the accounting booking of expenses
• To update cash flow, food, beverage, labour costs projection weekly
• To address vendors’ and other departments’ enquiries regarding payment issues
• To review reconciliation of creditors’ statements, report and follow up any exceptions identified
• Assist to prepare regular and any ad-hoc reports analysis and reconciliation
• Participate in month-end closing process and prepare departmental accounting reports
• To assist with preparing year-end audit schedules for annual audit
• To liaise with head of finance for any payment issues such as bills, bank charges and foreign exchange
• To monitor the collection of amounts receivable from vendors, claims from insurer or forwarder
• Assist to prepare regular and any ad-hoc reports analysis and reconciliation

Compliance and Business Integrity:

• Ensure that team members and counterparts understand and comply with the procedures and processes
• Ensure that financial practices are sound and in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and prevailing legislation as well as company guidelines, policies and procedures
• Maintain appropriate internal control safeguarding the Company’s assets
• Provide/attend training sessions when required
• Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience
• Excellent analytical problem solving, communications and negotiation skills
• Experience in a complex accounting environment including multiple subsidiaries, currencies, and bases of accounting strongly preferred
• Knowledge/expertise in Oracle accounting system and Aspen as advantage
• Preference for accounting experience with a major multinational corporation
• Self-motivated, independent and able to work under pressure and tight deadline
