Job Description
- In charge of all aspect of Bupa Group reporting, month-end closing and reconciliation processes
- Ensure the reporting package in compliance with Bupa Group accounting policies, procedures, and reporting timetable as well as liaison with external auditors
- Maintain control over reinsurance accounting data and process
- Maintain and strengthen financial accounting and reporting control procedures and processes to achieve high standard of financial integrity
- Work closely with the Group team on the risk framework and financial control policies
- Ensure the Group’s risk framework and financial control policies are successfully implemented, report any exceptions, and identify solutions and areas of improvement
- Continue to enhance financial accounting and reporting process flows to cope with new business needs
- Manage regular tax reporting, tax queries, and liaise with tax advisors
- Support IFRS 17 project implementation and apply knowledge of the new standard requirements to support system development and implementation
- As a member to support the implementation of HKRBC Pillar 1, 2 and 3.
- Manage and develop the team by knowledge transfer, coaching and motivation
Qualifications, Training and Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of insurance finance experience with at least 2 years at managerial level; candidate with lesser experience will be also considered as Assistant Manager position
- Finance or Accounting degree holder or above
- Qualified accountant of international recognized accounting bodies
- Big 4 candidate is a plus
- Possess good understanding of IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 requirements for non-life insurance business, concept of accounting entries required under IFRS 4 and IFRS 17
- Practical experience in finance accounting system implementation, and knowledge of PeopleSoft, Workiva and Tagetik systems is an asset
- Capable to identify areas of improvement in finance accounting reporting process
- Organized and discipline in meeting project schedules
- Strong senses of effectiveness financial control and reporting risk management
- Be a team player, able to influence to achieve successful outcomes
