Job Description

AECOM has an immediate requirement for a Resident Engineer (Geotechnical) to work on a large multi-disciplinary private project in Hong Kong. The project is located at Sai Sha, Shap Sze Heung, Sai Kung. The general nature of the proposed works include widening of Sai Sha Road between Sai O Village and Tai Tung Village from a 2-lane carriageway to a dual 2-lane carriageway; construction of a new carriageway from Tai Tung Village to Tseng Tau Village; construction of three footbridges near Nai Chung, Kwan Hang and Ma Kwu Lam Village; construction of footpaths and cycle tracks; and ancillary works including earthworks, drainage works, sewage and sewerage works, landscaping works, construction of box culverts, retaining walls, reconstruction of existing open space public carpark and public bus terminus and construction of noise barriers;

The successful applicant would be offered a 18-month contract initially and subject to renewal depending on the project’s ongoing needs.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Senior Resident Engineer on project management and contract administration works
  • Ensure that the engineering construction works are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Contract documents
  • Monitor the progress of the works
  • Maintain an effective site staff organization to adequately supervise the construction works
  • Answer technical queries and supplying further information
  • Check Contractor's submissions and proposals
  • Liaise with various government departments and utility companies;
  • Coordination with the client, design engineer and contractor for the completion of the works
  • Deal with any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by his/her superior.

Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant site supervision and administration experience in Civil or Geotechnical engineering works
  • MHKIE or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Geotechnical discipline (RPE(G))
