Major Duties:
(a) To provide technical support to teaching and learning activities in laboratory classes and other special projects as assigned;
(b) To prepare and install equipment and facilities in laboratories;
(c) To assist in troubling shooting, acquisition, installation and inventory management of all equipment, hardware and software;
(d) To assist in the procurement and control of relevant stores, inventory and consumables as well as the tools and equipment to be used in the laboratories; and
(e) To maintain the safety and tidiness of the laboratories / workshops.
Requirements:
(a) A relevant recognized diploma or higher certificate in the Engineering discipline or equivalent, preferably in the field of construction;
(b) At least 2 years’ relevant work experience;
(c) Knowledge in using common computer / educational software;
(d) Good work initiative and be a good team player; and
(e) Candidates with knowledge in one or more of the following area(s) would be an advantage:
- Geotechnical engineering
- Materials and structural testing including concrete and steel
- Destructive and non-destructive testing
- Building inspection and maintenance
- Laser cutting
- Quality management system
- Environmental engineering
- The Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) and safety management system
Notes:
(1) Shortlisted candidate(s) may be required to attend and pass a trade test.
(2) Candidates should specify their relevant skills and knowledge of equipment and software in section (vii) “OTHER INFORMATION” of the application form.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and/or outside normal office hours.
