The Position: We are looking for an Image and Style Developer. As the Image and Style Developer you will assist the Creative Director in implementing the visual brand identity through the development of Seasonal Trends and Collections, Product and Textiles Development and 3D Product development. You will be involved in enhancing the Indigo brand image by ensuring the Visual Merchandiser and the retail team are maintaining the high visual merchandising standard throughout our 8 Hong Kong locations.

The Location: Indigo Living stores are based in Ap Lei Chau, Cyberport, Central, Mid-levels and Shatin. Head office is in Cyberport, Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities

Seasonal Trends & Collections

  • Assist Creative Director as needed in developing the key season trend boards.
  • Add core product to Mood boards- After Mood boards presented (within 1 month), Buying Team to share initial collection strategy (disc/core/seas) and to add core/seas collection to mood boards.
  • New product development- select pantones, fabrics, finishes and materials and provide selections to Buying Team. Review shop drawings and mock-ups and provide feedback to Buying Team.
  • Textile Development- Develop textiles (cushions) for seasonal trends providing thread colors/ pantones as needed to buying team
  • Review final selections with Creative Director and Head of Buying via pin-up wall to ensure cohesion between the pieces.

Christmas Visual Concept for Campaign

  • Develop key visuals (photoshoot or existing imagery)

Lookbook Photoshoot (Seasonal & Christmas)

  • Book and arrange photographer (photographer decision to be made with Marketing and exec team). 
  • Scout locations.
  • Select Wallpaper/ feature paint colors
  • Present product selections to Creative Director for approval
  • Manage styling of room sets- assisted by Visual Merchandiser
  • Share shots during photoshoot with stakeholders for immediate feedback

Product Photoshoot

  • Organise furniture line list, book photographer and photoshoot space
  • Photoshoot Day- Manage WH and furniture movement, manage photographer
  • Receive & share with marketing all imagery from photographer.

Instore visual merchandising

  • Make a monthly visit to each of the HK shop locations with the Visual Merchandiser to ensure the look and feel of each store is up to standard.
  • Assign any follow up work to the Visual Merchandiser who will be responsible for its execution

Seasonal Shop Change

  • Approve mood boards and furniture selections based on New Trends created by Visual Merchandiser
  • Visit the store during or after the shop change for fine tuning. (you may need to be more hands on for the first shop change until VM is up to speed)

Core Competencies

  • Diploma or above in Interior Design or related discipline
  • Must possess a strong sense of design, color and style with an understanding of global home design trends and latest materials.
  • High level organizational skills with strong time management.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Creative Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch-up and CAD
  • Able to work creatively within a project team environment; Good communication and team skills, Self-motivated, hardworking and willing to work overtime.
  • Able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Availability to travel is preferred.
  • Fluency in spoken English a must, it will be beneficial if candidates are multilingual.
