Job role:

To provide top-grade commercial and residential show flat design services to current and future clients within budget. The Interior Design Manager will need to work closely with the Senior Design Manager to lead and provide creative and innovative solutions to internal/ external clients. 

Key responsibilities: -

Create

  • Foster a creative environment for the design team to propose detailed designs to different clients and realize the intended concepts to reality by being capable of handling a complete set of design packages, tender documents & drawings. 
  • Working closely with the sales team to work, oversee ideas and projects as a team to complete on time and on budget. 
  • A passionate designer who delivers spatial designs has excellent knowledge of materials and detailing, leading to strong design outcomes. 
  • Provide professional service for show flat furnishing and styling, design, and build projects for commercial B2B clients, including restaurant, office, hotel, etc.

Collaborate

  • Effective communication with department heads, clients, contractors, and internal team members to ensure projects are up to all parties' satisfaction.
  • Liaise and collaborate with various departments to keep them informed and highlight any issues. This would include the sales team and retail department, project management, buying, marketing, and Image and Style departments.

Manage

  • Project manage several ID projects from start to finish. Presentation to execution.
  • Direct and motivate the ID and team members to help them use their talents effectively and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
  • Train and guide subordinates into accomplished professionals.
  • Monitor results of team efforts and propose actions for the future, offer help when needed to ensure efficient deliverables that are up to the company's professional standards.
  • Communicate closely with Interior Design Manager to ensure the progress of projects and resources are sufficient. 

Core Competencies: -

  • Degree / Diploma Holder in interior design, architecture, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 7 years of solid experience in related discipline. Less experience will be considered as a Senior Interior Designer.
  • A leader who is inspiring, inclusive, and collaborative. One who can not only present but is always open to ideas and is willing to listen.  
  • Strong passion for interior design, always looking for creativity.
  • Strong project management skills, handling full set presentation, drawings, and specifications for B2B clients with technical background to support design. Commercial background is a plus.
  • Solid experience in handling clients and projects from the design stage to job completion.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Photoshop, Illustration, and MS office. Enscape is a plus.
  • 4 years or above relevant working experience in show-flat, commercial and residential clients. 
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player.
  • Able to handle multi-tasks under pressure and meet tight schedules with professional standards.
  • Fully aware of cost vs. reward (has business acumen and basic financial knowledge) with an understanding of how this translates into design output that is up to client's total satisfaction.
