Job Description

CAMPUS FACILITIES AND SUSTAINABILITY OFFICE

Senior Facilities Officer (Ref. 22060701-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) be responsible for the maintenance works of existing building facilities as well as building improvement and fit-out works;

(b) plan, organize, co-ordinate and supervise contractors to carry out repairs and maintenance works for building fabrics/fittings/fixture;

(c) design, prepare specifications and drawings for maintenance and improvement works as well as assess and make recommendations on returned tenders;

(d) provide technical back-up and support to other sections of the Office for University’s activities and functions when necessary;

(e) liaise with other sections of the Office, other units and contractors regarding the execution of assigned works;

(f) monitor the progress/quality of work performed/service provided by contractors; and arrange procurement of services and equipment/tools;

(g) perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when required; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognized degree in Building Surveying or a building construction related discipline;

(b) have at least five years of relevant experience, preferably with substantial experience in building maintenance/improvement works;

(c) possess a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) for construction sites;

(d) be familiar with Minor Works Regulations and have sound knowledge in legislative requirements of health and safety in construction sites;

(e) have good communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills;

(f) have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; and

(g) be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Preference will be given to those with practical experience in leakage repairs to building fabrics.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
