Job Description
Hotel and Tourism Institute / Chinese Culinary Institute / International Culinary Institute

Major Duties:
(a) To design and develop the curriculum, scheme of work, teaching and learning materials and assessments for modules related to food hygiene and safety, and nutritional science to align with the module intended learning outcomes and appropriate level of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework;
(b) To perform teaching duties for modules related to food hygiene and safety, nutritional science, occupational safety and health, green practices, etc.; and
(c) To prepare and maintain documentation and records in relation to the modules.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree in food science, nutritional science, or equivalent;
(b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and / or industrial experience, preferably in food / catering and / or training industry;
(c) Experience as an Auditor / Lead Auditor in food hygiene inspection and / or in ISO22000 is preferred;
(d) Proficiency in applying and monitoring proper food handling practices, personal hygiene, and environmental hygiene in various kitchens and restaurants;
(e) A food hygiene certificate recognised by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, or food hygiene certificate from or the member of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) or equivalent will be an added advantage;
(f) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;
(g) Good knowledge of basic computer applications; and
(h) Ability to pass a trade test.
Notes:
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
(2) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
