Business Analyst – mobile and web application

As a Business Analyst, you will help to ensure the successful management of the agency super app of a renowned international leader in insurance industry. You assist gather requirements from stakeholders and evaluate/document customer needs utilizing the Agile framework. Partner with Development and Architecture teams to create a successful delivery.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting business planning, tactical execution, and business integration of all digital initiatives under the regional agency productivity platform.

CORE FUNCTIONS

• Translate emerging customer needs and technologies into actionable business terms and associated plans. Define/document required changes to map experiences and requirements back to the development team, and confirm fit with desired scope and preferences of our internal customers and end users.
• Review/write requirements, act as liaison between business units and technology team, and communicate system and process changes to the business areas.
• Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves complex project, system or application errors ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality.

This position is responsible for identifying issues and solving problems for selected information applications or systems. Work is performed in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has decision-making authority within established guidelines for projects and applications and is expected to ask for guidance for more complex or non-standard situations. Expected to work at peer level across diverse areas and multiple states. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions company-wide.

QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                            

• 2 - 4 years experience as a Business Analyst preferably in the financial services or insurance industry
• Basic understanding of technical development cycle of mobile application or web portals
• Experience participating in successful projects with cross-functional teams
• Experience with iterative development and collaboration systems (Atlassian – JIRA & Confluence)
• Scrum Framework for Project Planning & Release Management
• Project leadership experience in a digital space, mobile preferred
• Ability to understand complex systems and related data to surface actionable insights, demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making skills
• Business analysis skills including facilitation, process documentation, requirements gathering and user acceptance testing
• Creativity and problem-solving skills to work around obstacles and solve problems with minimal direction
• Ability to identify areas for process improvement and recommend/implement solutions
• Strong organizational/time management skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines within defined timeframes
• High level of diplomacy and professionalism to work cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders

Must possess a strong technical and business knowledge as typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree related field.

Must demonstrate general knowledge of information technology specifically, user-centered design for mobile/web apps or large, content-rich consumer sites. Needs experience in medium scale project planning and reporting, either individual or team. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels.
