Job Description

What's the job about?

To lead all failure analysis activities on site in contract manufacturer factory:
  • Provide necessary technical advice to the factory/ external failure analysis lab to categorize the failure, deliver a precise report and provide effective mitigation steps. 
  • Key player in NPI phase product development.  Working closely with the engineering team in US, VN and HK on new product assembly and testing in the factory.
  • Drive the failure analysis process for all failures discovered from reliability testing and production fallout.
  • Analyze designs, reliability or yield failures down to a root cause, involving state-of-the-art analytical tools, processing acquired data and information sets to arrive at acceptable conclusion regarding the cause of failure
  • Responsible for failure analysis (FA) requests related to new product qualification, process improvement, and customer complaint & measurable
  • Review new products through the DfX process.  Wear the product quality hat to derive reliability test plan to address items identified in DfX process. 
  • Execute & monitor the test status then providing comprehensive regular feedback to management.  Ensure the test status, actions required are able to align with product development critical dates.
  • As the technical expertise in Reliability Assessment at onsite factory, provide technical guidance to derive mitigation plan for issues happening in production or Reliability Test.

  • Continuously optimizing a cost effective reliability plans based on failure analysis knowledge database and field return data.
  • Review current and historical production and quality data, collaborating with various Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering & Manufacturing teams
What we are looking for:

  • Degree/Master Degree in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunication Engineering or related discipline)
  • 5 years of related working experience in production or manufacturing industries, working with analog and digital electronics.  Highly prefer from R&D and NPI team.  Prefer Manufacturing and Process team.
  • Must possess excellent skills in analytical, problem solving and capable of performing tasks independently
  • Understanding  the physics of failures on full range of electronic components and determine associated risks
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with electrical characterization tools and lab test equipment (oscilloscope, curve tracer, AC/DC sources, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer etc)
  • Deep understanding of PC / SoC (System on Chip) architecture of consumer devices, and interaction/interconnects of peripherals, firmware and software of consumer devices
  • Knowledge in Reliability, Survival analysis and Statistic analysis, using Minitab/JMP, Weibull++
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is welcome
  • Key attitudes: Fact-based, Curiosity to dig out root cause and failure mechanism, self-learning
  • Excellent communication skills in English, ability to seamlessly work with cross-functional teams between US & APAC
