Job Description

Develops compensation policies, plans, procedures, and programs in response to organizational needs to achieve departmental and regional goals. Manages development and implementation of compensation and related programs such as job design, performance management, job analysis and evaluation, benefits and salary survey completion and incentive administration for the region. Oversees implementation and administration of new and revised benefits plans in region including but not limited to life and group health insurance, pension, thrift and related programs as well as other benefit programs and policies. Ensures compliance with all legal requirements of various employee benefits programs including filing with governmental agencies, record maintenance and dissemination of benefits information.

  • Develops and manages the compensation function for the region to achieve organizational goals. Serves as a resource to facility and corporate human resources staff and management regarding compensation and related issues.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements compensation policies, programs, and salary structures. Develops and implements associated procedures and practices.
  • Assures that the organization’s compensation programs are competitive and equitable and in keeping with the organization’s compensation philosophy.
  • Monitors and analyzes trends, developments, and legislation in compensation and related areas.
  • Oversees implementation and administration of new and revised benefits plans in region.
  • Prepares and manages compensation and benefit budgets for region and provides input for annual goals.
  • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

What makes you a great fit

  • University degree in Human Resources Administration, Business Administration, or a related field plus eight years professional experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, within compensation or a related field, some of which includes Level 5 managerial experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of compensation programs and concepts.
  • Knowledge of human resources laws and regulations as related to the benefits field.
