How will you make an impact in this role?

The Director, Colleague Market Partner (also referred to as Market HR Director) is primarily responsible for providing HR leadership to the Country Executive Team and the HR team in the Hong Kong market. The role is responsible for defining and implementing a robust Human Capital Plan (Market Colleague Plan) to enable the continued growth and development of the Hong Kong business, aligned with global HR priorities.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Business Leadership

Act as a key member and active participant of the Hong Kong Country Executive Team, the Regional HR Leadership Team, and the Global HR Leadership Community.

  • Act as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to the Country Manager and business leaders across the market, region, and global to deliver effective HR strategies to support business growth. 
  • Design, align and deliver a targeted Human Capital Plan (Market Colleague Plan) for the Hong Kong market that fulfills our vision of providing a great colleague experience every day. 
  • Lead with an external perspective by leveraging best practices to address current and/or anticipated risks and opportunity areas that will impact the business e.g., emerging skills, demographics, employee representative groups.
  • Ensure compliance with all local laws, government requirements, regulations, and policies.

Team Management

  • Provide day to day leadership of HR initiatives that are deployed in the Market in partnership with Strategic HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Expertise and the Global Strategic Capabilities and Servicing functions.
  • Ensure that the HR team is business focused, with a will to win approach, strong engagement and connected to the business and HR teams globally.
  • Continue to develop and engage a high performing HR team by providing exciting and challenging opportunities to develop and grow within the organization.

Organizational Development and Effectiveness

  • Provide leadership and support for business transformation initiatives through effective change and communications management.
  • Provide day to day leadership of HR initiatives that are deployed in the market by Strategic HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Expertise and the Global Strategic Capabilities and Servicing functions.
  • Translate and leverage global and regional business and HR imperatives into locally digestible implementations to drive performance and culture. 

Talent Management

  • Deliver effective HR solutions that enable and promote business growth while promoting, protecting, and enhancing our brand and reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Define and deliver learning strategies and initiatives in partnership with HR Center of Expertise to drive career growth and capability development.
  • Drive the talent agenda in the market in partnership with the business leaders and Strategic HR Business Partners with focus on key areas such as key talent retention, diversity and inclusion, and succession planning. 

Engagement & Culture

  • Co-create and deliver programs and initiatives that champion and cultivate a culture of diversity, equity, & inclusion.
  • Drive and influence strategies that reinforces our holistic approach to engagement where employees enjoy meaningful careers, they grow as leaders, they have empowered voices, and feel that their total well-being are supported. 
  • Act as a culture champion with a clear ‘pulse’ of employees’ sentiments, state of engagement, and prevailing trends that can impact overall employee experience.

Functional and Career Experiences

  • Broad HR experience in a large, multi-national organization, preferably in the financial services sector or regulated industries. 
  • Strong background in coaching, facilitation, and consultancy with a proven ability to partner effectively with senior leaders across the organization. 
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix structure deriving results through effective partnership, relationship building, and influencing.
  • Strong leadership skills and strategic thinking with experience in translating business strategy into HR strategy and tactical execution. 
  • Experience in leveraging data to drive effective decision making.
  • Proven experience in leading, motivating, and developing individuals and teams. 
  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or other relevant discipline
  • 10 years of experience in Human Resources with solid people leadership skills
  • Proficient of speaking and writing Cantonese and English
