Our Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally.

What you need to know:

The candidate is expected to work with analysts and experienced actuaries as part the Hong Kong team to provide actuarial advice to the business functions including profit centres, underwriting, finance, and risk management. Key responsibilities include:

• Provide local statutory quarterly reserving and solvency estimates for local regulatory reporting for Hong Kong
• Prepare US GAAP quarterly management results
• Provide annual Detailed Valuation Reviews, Actuarial Valuation Reports for Hong Kong and Macau Insurance Regulators.
• Provide necessary reports for quarterly Board and Risk committee reporting
• Manage external audit and peer reviews
• Assist in preparation and review on capital projection.
• Provide impact studies for change in investment strategies and portfolio mix
• Provide support to the budget loss ratio exercise and annual financial planning
• Provide analysis on loss ratio to Hong Kong management from reserve movement
• Assist in supporting strategic portfolio reviews and deep dive analyses of certain business segments
• Assist with implementation with the view of future ownership of the following:
  • IFRS 17 reporting
  • Hong Kong RBC reporting requirements
  • Hong Kong ORSA reporting requirements
  • Macau Actuarial Valuation Certification
• Assist in other ad-hoc analyses as required.

What we are looking for:

• Candidate with Mathematics/Actuarial/Statistics/Economics or any related degree background, with good progress towards Fellowship of accredited actuarial society
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the General insurance industry
• Experienced Associate or newly qualified Fellow of accredited actuarial society
• Experience in Hong Kong statutory reserving and reporting requirements
• Knowledge of Hong Kong insurance market is an advantage
• Familiarity with traditional actuarial techniques and models
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneous
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as take responsibility for his individual contribution
• Eye for detail
• Utmost integrity
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize own work
• Effective time management and strong communication skills
• Ability to forge relationships with other areas of the business
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, SQL, PowerBI.
