• Understand the current technology landscape, develop the architecture blueprint of the current capabilities, and establish the architecture document standard and governance
• Provide expert advice from technical and risk aspects on adoption of new technologies including cloud computing, distributed ledger technology, application architecture which includes the application integration and other FinTech initiatives to support the company’s continuous growth and business development
• Perform the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and technical debt, and recommend solutions for improvement
• Analyze the technology trends in banking industry to determine their potential impact on the banks and the company relating to their technology architecture
• Partner with subject matter experts and other teams to participate in architecture assessment and reviews on product evaluation of new initiatives and assist in defining technical and solution architecture
• Assist in managing the architecture review board and work with information technology and technology solution teams to define and manage the company’s enterprise-wide system architecture roadmap, definition, and standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

• University degree in information technology, computer science or related disciplines
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience preferably gained from major financial institutions with at least 3 years as the architect role
• Experience in development of architecture blueprints
• Knowledge and experience in designing API architecture, strategy and pattern
• Knowledge and experience in event-driven architecture design, container-based architecture design, node.js and java are preferable
• Knowledge in emerging technologies including cloud computing, distributed ledger technology and other FinTech initiatives are preferable
• Able to think out of the box in architecture design, resolve conflicts and keep abreast of the latest technology trend on architecture
• Good analytical, presentation, documentation and report writing skills
• Good command of written and spoken English, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
• Candidates with more experience may be considered for a more senior position

The Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) is a private company owned by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB). The key objective of the company is to develop and operate a safe and efficient multi-currency and multi-dimensional financial infrastructure in Hong Kong. It operates an integrated financial infrastructure platform for:

• interbank large value funds transfers denominated in HKD, USD, Euro and RMB;
• interbank money settlement of equity and debt securities transactions in Hong Kong via linkage established with the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited and Central Moneymarkets Unit system (CMU);
• interbank small value funds transfer denominated in HKD and RMB, i.e. the HKD and RMB faster payment systems (FPS);
• interbank clearing and/or money settlement of retail payments in Hong Kong such as paper cheques, autodebits, autocredits, credit card payments, etc.; and
• the HKMA’s CMU system, as a computer operator.
