Equity Syndicate Desk

The Equity Syndicate Desk sits within Equity Capital Markets (ECM), part of the Corporate Finance & Global Capital Markets Department. The desk is responsible for the co-ordination with Sales and Trading, marketing, pricing and allocation of all the Offerings. It is a relatively small, collegiate team that works with various divisions internally.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• The primary function is to execute ECM transactions
• Maintaining frequent dialogue with a wide variety of investors including but not limit to institutional investors, SWFs, corporate investors, sector specific funds, high net worth and family office
• Managing roadshows and coordination with internal (ECM, Sales, Equities, Research, Operations, Legal & Compliance) and external (syndicate of other banks and investors) counterparts
• Investor targeting and performance analysis, collecting investor feedback by maintaining proper tracker
• Managing  bookbuilding, setting up demand book, swapping, duping, analyzing, and coordination between syndicate banks
• Maintain block targets, execute placements / blocks, margin, and other secondary trades with trading desk

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• University Degree preferably in Business Administration or Finance
• Strong command of spoken and written English & Chinese with a fluency in Mandarin
•  7-10 years of work experience within an ECM department
• With strong distribution network on institutional investors in PRC, probably PRC SOE / corporate investors.Besides, if the person has access to PE funds, high net worth investors who may be major shareholders of HK-listed companies.
• Exposure of secondary offerings including placement, rights, cb, etc
• Preferably come from sales background
• Strong analytical skill, including modeling experience   
• Good presentation / communication skills with ability to effectively interact with groups across divisions (e.g. traders, sales, classic bankers)  
• Ability to form independent judgments and move transactions forward  
• Demonstrate attention to detail   
• Drive and enthusiasm with a team orientation
