Job Description

Job Responsibilities
  • Report to CEO, this position will develop and implement the Group’s environmental compliance and HSE strategies and plan to achieve our sustainability goals for our manufacturing plants in Asia.
  • Advise and work with Country Management Team to build environmental compliance mindset and drive changes in employees’ behaviour to build an environmental friendly environment.
  • Set up and implement sustainability roadmap and build up the capability of our sustainability team in all locations in Asia.
  • Organize and implement the factories’ safety and environmental related policies and guidelines, set up measurement / performance indicators and control mechanism which are in line with international standards and statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the factories concerning their daily safety / environmental management and organize regular meetings in reviewing the progress.
  • Keep track on the environmental safety implementation issues at the production sites and to organize regular meetings about safety and environmental matters.
  • Spot check the wastes discharge situation and related figures so as to prevent and eliminate any potential environmental hazards and pollution problems.
  • Set up effective reporting on safety and environmental related disciplines, compile statistics and conduct other relevant analysis.
  • Keep senior management abreast of safety and environmental related legislations and their impacts to the Company.
  • Facilitate or provide necessary assistance to the factories in order to obtain relevant permits or certifications in accordance with statutory requirements / regulations and international standards.
  • Oversee the improvement progress on corrective action plans and communicate with relevant internal / external parties for the results achieved.
  • Prevent, reduce or eliminate hazards that may affect the health of employees.
  • Set up crisis management policies and procedures, and site crisis management team to analyse and mitigate risks and strengthen the capability of all sites to deal with crisis.
  • Communicate with internal parties across different functions and external stake holders such as customers and NGOs to liaise on sustainability related affairs.
  • Organize social and environmental engagement events both within and outside the group.
  • Prepare the group ESG report required by the listing rule of the Hong Kong stock Exchange.
  • Accomplish other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the superior.
Job Requirements
  • University degree or above in Environment.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in environmental compliance and health and safety work experience in sizable manufacturing enterprises.
  • Familiar with the statutory requirements and international on safety and environmental protection as well as related measurement and production processes.
  • Familiar with standards and audit requirements of ISO9001 / OHSAS18001 / ISO14001 or other related systems.
  • Strong leadership and management skills required.
  • Sound project management, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proactive and tactful in communication.
  • Proficiency in computer software, and in both oral and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
  • Travel to support overseas operation is required.
