Job Description
- Control and direct the Housekeeping Department, planning and organizing operations to most effectively achieve and maintain the established standards of cleanliness in guestrooms, public and employee areas
- Supervise and control the ordering and usage of cleaning supplies, guest supply costs and chemical
- Co-ordinate and oversee all daily housekeeping functions
- Establish and maintain standards and procedures for cleaning. Initiate new procedures to increase efficiency of labour and product use
- Major responsibilities include ensuring guests satisfaction with hotel cleanliness, responding to guest needs, ensuring safety and security of rooms, maintaining inventory and cost controls, selecting, training, maintaining and managing a motivated and skilled work force
- Co-ordinate closely with Engineering Department for necessary maintenance or re-furbishing programs of guest rooms and public areas
- Ensure proper communication within department by conducting regular meeting with all personnel
- Liaise with Front Office for special requests
- Prepare departmental expenditure budget for coming year for management approval
- Evaluate staff performance regularly and to give guidance for immediate improvement in weak area
- To arrange quarterly pest control with Contractor for all F & B outlets, guest rooms, pipe ducts etc.
- To be prepared for additional responsibilities which may be assigned whenever necessary
- Diploma in Hospitality Management or related disciplines preferred
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in Housekeeping Department with at least 4 years in supervisory level
- Excellent in housekeeping staff scheduling, operations and leadership
- Ability to guide, coach and motivate departmental members
- Strong commitment to service excellence
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
