Responsibilities

1. Manage Daily Operations

• Manage daily operations including coffee and drink bar
• Closely communicate with cafe team on coffee and beverage quantity and quality issues
• Maintain a safe, hygienic and presentable work environment, following approved operating procedures, food safety guidelines and health and safety regulations
• Ensure housekeeping is up to standard
• Keep equipment working by following operating instructions, carrying out preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting breakdown

2. Sales, Inventory and Wastage Control

• Manage coffee and beverage inventory level, movement and delivery schedule; conduct stocktake regularly
• Maintain supplies of counter and bar beverages in line with forecast demand

3. Customer Service

• Welcome and interact with customers, finding their preferences and using detailed knowledge to gently recommend coffee and other beverages they will enjoy
• Build and develop customer relations with new and existing customers
• Handle customer enquiries, comments and complaints

• Prepare training materials and conduct training to foster Barista and the team

Requirements

• Excellent communication and love coffee
• Ability to keep a calm, mature, professional demeanor when at all times
• A high degree of ethics and obsession with customer service
• Ability to work well within groups
• Focused perspective on what a high-functioning coffee bar looks like and how to execute that perspective
• Be a model barista, both as far as bar skills, customer service and enthusiasm to share knowledge
• At least 8 years of experience in specialty coffee and the coffee industry
• Immediately available is preferred
• Less experience will be considered as Barista
