Job Description

Job Purpose

Assist team head to integrate climate risk management in the Bank's risk management framework and exercise subject matter oversight of climate risk across the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate the methodology to scope, identify and prioritize high-risk processes in the Bank for end-to-end operational risk assessment.
  • Assist in design, implementing and delivering the integrated operational risk assessment for cross-function high-risk processes.
  • Plan and execute workshops to stakeholders to map the high-risk process and its controls, to assess and mitigate operational risks in process, to identify gaps in the operation of controls.
  • Challenge the assessment results and track the corresponding gaps and actions to case closure.
  • Promote awareness of the significance of the integrated end-to-end approach and conduct workshops to stakeholders.
  • Provide input on climate risk in the context of risk frameworks, governance, management and measurement, stress testing, strategy and related regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the inclusion of climate risk into risk appetite statement. Work as the primary point of contact on climate risk appetite matters.
  • Support the set-up of framework for internal and external reporting on climate risk exposures and management approach.
  • Work with third party experts and advisors to aid formulation the bank’s approach to climate risk management.

Requirements

  • Degree holder preferably in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 6 years’ of related experience in Operational Risk or Internal Control preferably gained in banking or professional consultancy firms.
  • Good knowledge in banking laws, operations, banking products and services.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements relating to Operational Risk Management in banking industry.
  • Self-motivated, independent and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
