Job Description

An Insurance Company is seeking for a Finance Manager.

Responsiblities

FP & A

  • Support CFO/Finance Director on financial aspect of strategic planning, review financial plan to ensure its rationality and consistency aligning to the business strategy. 
  • Enhance financial planning and analysis to drive business performance, and support business decision making, particularly in variance analysis against the plan and highlight the underlying business reasons for variance. 
  • Track business performance, prepare report and analytics to management team, the Board and HASL Group. 
  • Proactively present the result of the analysis and make recommendation to improve performance. 

Finance Project: 

  • Handle various finance related projects as assigned, including but not limited to projects on IFRS 17, IFRS 9, Policy Admin system. 
  • Work closely with IT team, project members and external consultant/suppliers on user requirements, feasibility study, delivery and user acceptance test. 
  • Escalate project issues and recommend solutions to ensure agreed project timelines, deliverables and benefits are achieved on time and within budget. 
  • Provide training, develop user manual, procedures to finance staff throughout the change process. 
Others:  
  • Ensure business activities are compliant with the internal policies and guidelines. 
  • Regular review of various finance policies and processes, including but not limited to commission statement and payment process, expense payment process (e.g. company overhead expenses and intercompany recharges) and policy holder payments (e.g. refund, surrender, withdrawal) to ensure process efficiency & effectiveness and proper governance & controls are in place. 
  • Any other tasks as assigned by manager. 

Requirements 

  • Qualified accountant or actuary or close to final qualifications 
  • University graduate required 
  •  Solid at least 6 working experiences in finance and accounting experience. 
  •  Good stakeholder management skills. 
  •  Good understanding and interpretation of insurance company financial statements. 
  •  Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  •  Working knowledge in Oracle is an advantage. 
  •  Able to work independently, under pressures and demanding deadlines. 
  •  Good written and verbal communication skills with an ability to distil complex technical information into clear simple messages 
  •  High level of analytical skills
