The appointee will be supporting the HKTDC research team in undertaking research support tasks.  He/she is expected to perform various research tasks under economists’ guidance. The appointee might also need to provide administrative supports to the research team. This position provides the prospect to future career development in the economist field.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market and economic research in regular updates and research projects under the supervision of economists, by carrying out information and data collection, as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Provide statistical support and fact-checking for research publications and materials
• Draft research pieces that contribute to articles and reports for general business readers
• Update the research content onto the Research portal using content management system

Requirements:

• A good university degree in Economics or other relevant disciplines
• Possession of relevant working experience (fresh graduates will also be considered)
• Good analytical skills and communication skills
• Strong writing skills in both English and Chinese.  Proficient in Putonghua
• Good computing skills, including Excel Word, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing
• Knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g. Tableau, Python, SPSS) would be an advantage
• A team player with strong initiatives, able to manage multiple projects and work under pressure
• A team player with sound organisational and interpersonal skills, able to undertake multiple tasks and work under pressure
