Job Description
Centre for Learning and Teaching

Major Duties:
(a) To provide training and support to various academic disciplines and operational units regarding curriculum design and development, syllabus writing, assessment, implementation of blended learning and online assessment, as well as learning and teaching strategies in alignment with the VTC’s learning and teaching initiatives;
(b) To develop and facilitate training programmes, seminars, webinars and workshops for teacher development, including sharing of best learning and teaching practices as well as latest and prevailing pedagogies;
(c) To develop e-resources such as e-exemplars, e-tutorials and short videos, and e-handbooks to promote and support the implementation of blended learning and digital learning and teaching in academic disciplines and operational units;
(d) To provide instructional design to support learning and teaching resources development and conduct briefing / sharing sessions to relevant parties;
(e) To assist in the evaluation of training and e-resources to carry out enhancement measures and remedial support to academic disciplines;
(f) To support and advise on learning and teaching matters for programme accreditations ranging from sub-degree to degree levels; and
(g) To organise projects and events and conduct research relating to learning and teaching.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree or a post-graduate qualification in education / information technology / multimedia / training or equivalent;
(b) At least 3 years’ relevant experience, preferably with experience as a teacher in the context of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET), and good knowledge and solid experience in curriculum development of programmes / modules at the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF) Levels 1 to 5;
(c) Good experience in development and delivery of training programmes, and learning resources development in at least one of the following areas:
(i) Digital Learning and Teaching, such as blended learning, co-ordination of Moodle or other online teaching tools and online assessment;
(ii) Project-based Learning;
(iii) Workplace Learning and Assessment; and
(iv) Outcome-based Teaching and Learning;
(d) Good knowledge of learning and teaching strategies and assessment;
(e) Good initiative, interpersonal, co-ordination and facilitation (online and face-to-face) skills; and
(f) Good command of English and Chinese, preferably with proficiency in Putonghua.
Notes:
(1) The post is in the rank of “Lecturer”.
(2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written test and to perform teaching demonstration in English at the selection interview.
(3) The appointee(s) may be required to work outside normal office hours.
