Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to Senior Finance Manager – Finance Manager of General Ledger will be responsible to manage the overall month end closing for a multiple countries or markets, mainly focusing on Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan & Vietnam:

  • Accountable for the quality of financial closing (monthly, quarterly & year-end submission) before handling over to country. Able to prepare, review, challenge and sign off accounting books, maintain and update the company's General Ledger as well as Chart of Accounts. Demonstrates knowledge in the management and maintenance of general ledger reporting systems, posting rules and report development.
  • Coordinate and drive AP/AR/GL/Inventory business service team to complete monthly closing as per agreed time table under proper accounting standard (Chanel & local specific).  He or she can demonstrate good knowledge perform accurate accounting activities with regards to AR / AP / FA / Inventory Management.  Demonstrates ability to handle exceptions and general enquiries via effective communication with relevant stakeholders (e.g. business users).
  • Accountable for financial statement preparation and external reporting.  He or she can demonstrate good knowledge in the process of local statutory reporting and the relevant accounting standards (e.g. HKFRS / IFRS) required to prepare, review, and comment on income statement and balance sheet. Maintains an updated knowledge of relevant accounting standards.
  • Acts as a gatekeeper to operate within a control environment and ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting and financial documentation, adequate authorization and segregation of duties, etc. Demonstrates business ethics in carrying out daily responsibility. Adheres to CHANEL's governance framework and policies.
  • Comfortable with learning new system tools and facilitating the adaptation of system functionality or other emerging technologies like RPA to facilitate transaction processing, data manipulation, modelling and analysis.
  • Assist Senior Finance Manger – General Ledger to standardize record-to-report end to end process and implement automation technology to maximize the efficiency improvement.
  • Work closely with country Finance Manager to ensure the service provided to country are satisfactory.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years relevant working experience, including 2 years in managerial role.
  • With Big 4 audit experience has an advantage.
  • Worked in Shared Service Center is an advantage.
  • Solid expertise/ operational know-how of all finance processes (AP, AR, GL, inventory accounting, etc) and understanding of market specificities.
  • Fluent in English & Mandarin is an advantage.
