Job Description

CULTURE PROMOTION AND EVENTS OFFICE

Officer (Venue) (Ref. 220805005)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)  assist in all booking matters of Jockey Club Auditorium, Chiang Chen Studio Theatre, and other venues under the management of the Office, including handling of venue booking enquiries, site visits, and other administrative duties according to the established procedures and guidelines in a customer-service oriented manner;

(b)  assist in venue management and front-of-house operations of venues, including coordination with internal and external users, and working partners on event logistics, ticketing as well as venue repair and management to ensure smooth running and operations at all times;

(c)  serve as duty manager of the two performing venues;

(d) compile various kinds of venue reports and maintain effective record systems;

(e) provide administrative support to the special projects and functions, including data mining, collating and compiling; and

(f)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his/her delegates.

The appointee will be required to work on irregular hours and on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)  have a recognized degree or an equivalent academic qualification in a related discipline;

(b) have at least three years of solid experience in related fields of work, preferably gained in tertiary institutions;

(c) have good analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;

(d) be well-organized and attentive to details;

(e) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Putonghua; and

(f)  have good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
