Job Responsibilities:

Provide middle-office support services to asset managers to ensure the smooth running of banking accounts and custody services for their various fund products which cover pension funds, authorized/non-authorized funds, OFCs, etc. As a subject matter expert in relation to corporate actions and tax processing of global securities, the candidate is expected to perform the following key duties as follows: 

• Plan and supervise the work processes of the team in these regards;
• Ensure all trade or corporate action instructions are validated and authorized appropriately and punctually, meeting market or sub-custodian deadlines on a timely basis;
• Check and approve bank instructions for funding, FX and their settlement;
• Monitor corporate events of issuers and subsequent flows and tax impact, if any, of corporate entitlements;
• Initiate market claims and/or tax claims in various markets, whenever necessary, for and on behalf of fund schemes;
• Be the contact point for asset managers, sub-custodians and banks to resolve issues promptly;
• Keep track of changes in securities market practices and tax-related information;
• Liaise with banks, sub-custodians and fund managers on account set-up and securities market access;

Job Requirements:

• Degree holder in business related discipline, preferably in finance or accounting.
• At least 10 years’ relevant experience in banking or financial services industry.
• Knowledge of SFC rules and MPF regulation is a plus point.
• Sound understanding of investment products, global securities markets and regulations.
• Strong initiative with good problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Familiar with PORTIA System.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
• Good PC knowledge include EXCEL and MS Word.
