Role description:

Business support aiming to bridge division operations and accounting in such a way that internal and external planning and control cycle and reporting are designed and functioning in an efficient and effective way.

Role accountabilities:

  • Be a forward looking, proactive Finance partner providing insightful advice and challenge to the business in all areas of performance.
  • Provide insightful analysis on business performance and trends with a forward-looking lens and driving action as required across the business.
  • Drive Working Capital performance to exceed targets.
  • Be an active participant and contributor in the sale and bid processes assisting the leadership to drive profitable growth.
  • Report financial KPIs, project and P&L performance management reporting and analysis (profitability, net working capital and cashflow) accurately and transparently.
  • Provide analysis and commentary regarding monthly, quarterly and annual financials; Provide ad-hoc operational financial analysis and insight.
  • Work with the sector to prepare forecasts and business plans.
  • Drive improved business acumen and compliance particularly in areas such as working capital, revenue recognition, project set-up and close, reforecasting, billing, cash collection, timesheets.
  • Proactively attend project reviews, help to identify project risks and mitigation plans; challenge the Project Managers and ensure risks are appropriately built into the forecast.
  • Provide advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle including WBS best practice, reviewing CTC, etc.
  • Undertake training for sector Project Managers' in the ERP and Arcadis Way best practice, particularly focusing on project finance.
  • Develop, lead, coach and mentor Project controllers, Project Administration, Billing specialists and Credit Control teams; ensure a learning and continual development culture throughout the finance team.
  • Ensure a close partnership with the wider finance teams, in particular Accounting, Risk, Tax and GSSC.
  • Develop key relationships and networks both internally and externally (Key clients and Partners); participate with industry and professional bodies to gain business and industry knowledge.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or higher in Accounting / Finance or other related discipline
  • At least 10 years working experience in similar position with projects and accounting
  • Capacity to use and/or to learn applicable software
  • Knowledge of management of information and control systems
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Reliability and endurance
  • Proactive attitude and accurate work
  • Agility and focus to support management
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
