Job Description
Role Purpose:
Our Packaging Engineer is in-charge of all technical aspects of packaging from product development to final destinations along the supply chain.

Our Packaging Engineer is in-charge of all technical aspects of packaging from product development to final destinations along the supply chain.
What you will be handling:
- Lead and support packaging initiatives on primary, secondary & tertiary level from product development to final delivery.
- Work closely with merchandisers, suppliers and printers on all packaging related topics like space-optimized packaging, store/online packaging standards, sustainable packaging solutions
- Review packaging and resolve issues including claims raised by customers.
- Conduct materials and cost analysis, provide packaging input to identify the best packaging alternatives for our products.
- Ensure suppliers and our products are fully in compliance with METRO Packaging sustainability and environment policies.
- Able to prioritize multiple projects and cope with pressure of tight timelines
- Willing to travel frequently
- Excellent problem solving and project management skills
- Strong sense of ownership and high degree of independence
- Degree Holder in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science or equivalent discipline
- At least 3 years of packaging structural engineering experience
- Sound knowledge of engineering systems, packaging materials & technologies
- Good command of both written & spoken English & Chinese (including Mandarin)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel / TEAMS / PowerPoint / Outlook) applications
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop is advantageous
