Job Description
Our Client is a creative, multi-disciplinary, award-winning architectural and interior design firm. They are looking for a creative Associate Director (Interior Design – Retail Shopping Malls) with a passion for retail/ shopping mall design to join their Hong Kong studio. The successful candidate will lead and execute the design solution for China and APEC projects.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the Studio Leaders and Directors to oversee the design of retail and commercial projects
- Responsible for the leadership and development of multiple retail design solutions and ensuring the strategy, design, function and budget criteria meet the set objective
- Present concept/ideas and retail solutions to both internal members and clients
- Prepare and monitor fee proposals, cost plans, and project milestones
- Take the lead and coordinate with team members on the design from conceptual to construction
- Liaise with Client, multi-discipline consultants, sub-consultants, and contractors to ensure all project information is aligned between all parties
- Manage a complete set of drawings and coordinate documentation required for tendering and construction issues
- Research the latest retail market trend and present workable ideas to the Management Team
- Monitor the execution of projects to ensure local statutory standards and project requirements are met
- Degree holder in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline from a recognized institutions
- Min. 8 years of working experience, preferably in an international studio, with relevant experience in handling high-quality large-scale retail projects in China and the APEC region, from conception through to implementation
- Familiar with the latest retail store design trends and industry insights; understanding visual merchandising and branding is a plus
- Team player who can work independently and under pressure within tight deadlines
- Excellent people & communication skills
- Strong presentation skills and expertise using 2/3D software: AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe CS, and MS Office
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
- Strong leadership, result oriented, detail-oriented, energetic and assertive
