JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Project Manager, Store Construction (Contract) is responsible for managing the store process through store opening, charged with ensuring brand image is maintained in Full Price Store, Outlets and Shop-in-shops in the Asia zone.  To set up store opening plans and ensure the development plan being well implemented; Project development, actively steering project to meet design, quality, time and cost targets; Responsible for the project management of various fit-out projects; Cost controlling, monitor the budgets and expenses, control the costs in budgets; Monitor and evaluate external partners: general contractors, local project managers, suppliers and maintenance providers ensuring competencies as well as Guarantee standards, ensure global guidelines and initiatives are applied to all aspects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with local teams - Retails, Finance, Visual Merchandising, IT, Store Manager - and HQ team, local architects, contractors, direct vendors to control costs, scheduling and quality of projects
  • Prepare feasibility studies to evaluate locations and estimate budgets
  • Collaborate with Legal Department to revise and comment Lease Agreements with regards to Store Planning technical duties
  • Support HQ for selection and certification of new direct and Millwork Contractors
  • Collect start-up information from Local Parties (Retail Managers, Partner, etc.) necessary to develop the design in accordance with Company commercial requirement
  • Establish contact with landlord technical team, to get guidelines and all necessary technical start up location information
  • Coordinate with Corporate Design Department to prepare location layout matching retail brief, organize layout reviews with local teams involved and share feedback with Corporate for HQ Management approval
  • Select and propose the suitable consultant for the job
  • Supervise local consultants’ activities to ensure project progress within approved budget and timing and brief information
  • Organize General Contractors bidding evaluate tenders results and submit analysis to Regional Senior Management for works assignment and award
  • Prepare and update Project Cost summary regularly along the project development
  • Review consultants and contractors’ drawings, to ensure consistence with project and concept, from preliminary submission up to shop drawings for millwork production, site construction
  • Check correctness of all Contractors orders to nominated direct vendors
  • Visit construction sites and check Consultant and Contractors reports, from setting-up to punch list completion, to ensure quality of installation and construction, identifying outstanding issues and ensuring appropriate follow-up
  • Collect as-built drawings and keep record of store opening info, from final accounts to pictures

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Able to work independently but also collaboratively with cross functional teams
  • Attention to details with good analytical skills and is numerically sensitive
  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Team player and adaptable to changing environment
  • Proactive and highly organized
  • Meticulous with effective planning and coordination skills
  • Knowledge in construction regulations and requirements, remodeling and fitting out projects
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent command in written and spoken English
