JOB OVERVIEW
The Learning & Development Officer is a full-time role under the Generation X [email protected] initiative which focuses on fostering a sustainable ecosystem to facilitate youth with their transition from school to work, enabling them to pursue a fulfilling life through cross sector collaborations in school, community, and workplace. The Officer will report to the Curriculum & Instruction Manager (L&D function) and would be responsible for curriculum Quality Assurance (QA), onboarding new trainers, delivering Train-the-trainer courses and providing ongoing instructional consultation to existing trainers under the guidance of the management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensure the training effectiveness for local curriculum development based on the Master Global Curriculum and design through regular classroom visits.
  • Manage the Learning Management Platforms (Canvas, Codecademy, Datacamp, LinkedIn Learning) for trainers.
  • Identify and resolve programmatic issues that affect curriculum design, instruction, and program implementation, administration, and management.
  • Revamp and improve the training based on the feedback from students or other stakeholders.
  • Manage online and / or in-person onboarding and deliver train-the-trainer course for all new trainers and provide continuous training to trainers to ensure the training effectiveness and meet the Generation global standard.
  • Collect, evaluate and analyze training data in different stages of the program; and provide support and coaching for trainers.
  • Guide trainers in setting professional development plans that include short- and long-term goals.
  • Analyze observation evidence to determine trainer strengths, areas for improvement, and progress toward development goals.
  • Communicate important updates and information about trainers and programs to other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned by the management.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education, IT, healthcare or service-related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years in corporate Learning & Development experience (e.g. on-the-job training, new hire onboarding, classroom instruction, coaching, etc.).
  • Comfortable with using technology to collaborate (e.g., Google drive and docs, Zoom video conference, etc.).
  • Creative and analytical thinker with a track record of managing projects and delivering operational targets.
  • Professional demeanour, excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-reflective and open to frequent feedback from students and the leadership team.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude, drive for excellence and ability to be a team player.
  • Entrepreneurial, creative, proactive mindset required of start-ups that takes ownership for targets and seeks opportunities for improvement / growth of the program without guidance.
  • Ability to work against firm deadlines to achieve the targets and objectives.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English & Chinese (Cantonese) is a must.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience teaching young adults, coaching, re-training, educational institutions and/or has knowledge of current trends, issues and the players in the skills training landscape.
  • Immediate availability is preferred.
