Job Description

In support of the Government’s Job Creation Scheme under the Anti-epidemic Fund, we are now inviting applications for the following position under a one-year fixed-term contract:

You will be responsible for:
  • supporting the Collection Database Team (CDBT) with review and development of our collections information documentation, including but not limited to documentation standards manuals, data content standards, data entry guides, procedures
  • developing and delivering TMS training resources including but not limited to video training series, training modules for particular users’ groups, practice exercises, flowcharts, refresher training and periodic evaluations;
  • facilitating the development and delivery of ongoing training initiatives, for existing and new users of the system;
  • contributing to the ongoing development of a data monitoring programme and supporting Collections Database Manager on the planning and implementation of new data standards;
  • providing general administrative support to the CDBT team; and
  • performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor when necessary.
You should:
  • possess a recognised university degree or equivalent in Museum Studies, Information Management, Library Sciences, or equivalent;
  • have at least 1 or 2 years work experience in a museum, gallery or library;
  • possess knowledge of Collection Management software or other related systems is preferred;
  • showcase experience and skills in technical writing and documentation;
  • have the ability to work accurately with meticulous attention to detail;
  • have the ability to work both independently and co-operatively with others in a fast-paced team environment;
  • be computer literate with knowledge of Excel, Word and Adobe applications; and
  • have good communication skills in both oral and written Chinese and English to train and support both technical and non-technical database users.
