The appointee will work on the molecular design and material synthesis of organic compound (small molecules) that can be formulated into electrolyte for lithium metal battery (LMB). He/She will work in the team which is responsible for:

• Design and synthesis of organic molecules;
• Purification of as synthesized compounds;
• Characterization of as synthesized compounds by different technique;
• Investigate the physical properties of the as synthesized material; and
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.

• PhD or MPhil degree holder in Chemistry, Material Science or related disciplines. Fresh graduate will also be considered;
• Solid experience in R&D project in related to synthetic chemistry;
• Knowledge and experience in organic synthesis (in small molecules), including schlenk technique, reaction under inert atmosphere;
• Knowledge in characterization technique, including 1H/19F/13C NMR spectroscopy, IR, MS and GC-MS, etc.;
• Knowledge in material physical property characterization is a plus, such as boiling point, flash point, viscosity and purity, etc.;
• Industrial experience in related technology will be an advantage;
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese;
• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, ability of literature review are needed; and
• Good team player, self-motivated and ability to work independently.
