ROLE OVERVIEW

Working in an international high volume premiums business, this position is responsible on the management and implementation of the TMS strategy for chemical and raw materials control. This role required an intensive engagement and alignment work with key stakeholders including the clients, TMS functions, vendors and raw materials supplier. This role will also provide expert chemical advice, guidance, support and control for TMS and the supplier chain.

Job Relationships:
Internal – Global Quality & Safety Teams, Product Development Engineers, Supply Chain Operations, tms Agencies.

External – Manufacturing Vendors, Factories, Subcontractors, Customers and Clients, Third Party Testing Laboratories, Raw Material Suppliers, Professional and Trade Bodies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO TMS 
  • Execute according the chemical and raw material management strategy in the tms supplier chain, and participate in the decision making.
  • Providing expert advice to tms, vendors and raw material suppliers on all aspects of chemical and raw materials management, regulations, standards, best practice, protocols, and procedures.
  • Take appropriate actions according to the decided priorities and goals for the tms chemical and raw materials strategy.
  • Implement and daily monitor the agreed KPIs that reflect the progress of the control and management of chemicals and raw materials by tms, vendors, factories and raw material suppliers.
  • Developing tms personnel allocated to work on chemical and raw materials.
  • Works cross-functionally with the team to ensure that product is safe, legal, right quality, meets client’s requirements and on time.
  • Establishes a strong working relationship with clients, core vendors and factories, providing them with the expert advice, direction, necessary controls, best practice expected by tms and clients.
  • Conduct effective training to vendors, factories and raw material suppliers on clients expectations and requirements for chemical management.
  • Liaises closely with the third party laboratories, giving the best advice, on all chemical and raw material related projects, standards and protocols.

 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’D LIKE YOU TO HAVE
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the chemical and raw materials analysis, management and control for use in consumer products.
  • Proven experience in programme management and influencing people.
  • Proven experience in chemical and raw material control processes.
  • Proven experience in QA/QC functions and controls in a high volume business.
  • Experience in the manufacturing or control of consumer goods and their quality assurance.
  • Experience in toy manufacturing is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Ability to use metrics to analyse trends, potential impact etc.
  • Proven ability to work within different cultures and effective working internationally.
  • At least a degree or equivalent in a science based subject.
  • Proven manufacturing management capability to optimize suppliers’ performance.
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent planning and process re-engineering ability.
  • Analytical and logical thinker
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Mandarin speaking would be an advantage, but not essential
  • A high level of ethics and integrity
  • Open to new ideas and change
  • Team Player
  • Able and willing to travel.
