Job Description
We aim at delivering technical consultancy to top-tier developers, financiers, governments, councils and other relevant bodies on the development of low-carbon, climate change and sustainability solutions in the East Asia region. Robust, scientifically sound and practical solutions are important in this growing and interesting market.
Responsibilities:

- Work closely with various subject matter specialists to offer total climate-resilient and low-carbon solutions to clients
- Manage and lead climate-related projects at both initial design and implementation stages, including developing scopes, framing practical science-based approach to answer questions addressed by clients, executing codes and driving high-performance computers, e.g. LINUX cluster and cloud-based server, to compute results, make sound analysis and present in easy-to-digest manner to other domain experts, who may or may not be familiar with number
- Conduct climate hazard assessment and formulate solutions for climate adaptation and resilience
- Support climate-related business development
- Occasional business travel as and when required
Qualifications & Experience required:
- PhD / Master Degree / Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Physics or other numeric and scientific-focused disciplines. Further specialized in Computational Hydrology, Meteorology and statistical analysis will be an advantage
- At least 3 years of relevant experience for the position of Consultant and at least 7 years of experience for the position of Project Consultant, preferably in computational modelling
- Corporate member of relevant professional institution(s)
- Experience in low-level programming, e.g. representing complex mathematical equations in C++ or Fortran. Good command in high-level programming languages, e.g. Python and R, will be an advantage
- Experience in some of the wider skillsets of computational suite, e.g. GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), BIM, CFD, statistical downscaling and SQL
- Hands-on experience in reputed dynamical modelling, e.g. WRF, GCM, Delft, ICM and Cordex. With knowledge to build own scripts to drive the model in to fit various types of clients and types of projects is preferred
- Able to understand environmental process (e.g. precipitation physics), underlie mathematical equations and convert into computing language
- Problem solver that able to perform multi-task and set priority
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Cantonese. Good command of Putonghua will be an advantage
