Job Description
Overview:
The Consultant will be involved in major building and infrastructural projects with the aim of digitally improving their workflows so the teams can deliver better, faster and more. A particular focus will be on delivering content on the Arup Total Design Automation platform. An in-house developed cloud-based platform that makes automated workflows available to all projects.
Furthermore, this successful incumbent will act as a change manager, which can involve the organisation / coordination of regional awareness and reinforcement events.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with internal end-users, learn their needs and support their business processes through the deployment and development of tools and web applications, training and/or workflow restructure
- Support Digital Design Team to deliver tools to automate tasks for the internal end-users
- Work in a fast-paced environment to take charge, identify opportunities and then deliver solutions to automate tasks for the internal end-users
- Identify recurrent problems and see opportunities for delivering generic solutions
- Perform business analysis and user experience design
- Prepare system manuals and related documentations
- Provide end-user technical support and training
Qualifications and Experiences required:
- Degree in Engineering with strong interest in software development
- At least 7 years of relevant experience
- Relevant working experience in parametric design, design automation, and visual programming is strongly preferred
- Demonstrable proficiency in:

- Various design and engineering software, at minimum:
- Rhino and Grasshopper
- Revit and Dynamo
- One or more of the following languages: C#, Python, JavaScript
- The following skills:
- Develop add-ins hosted within another application using APIs and/or Windows desktop applications
- Develop Web Application and understand Server Architectures
- Manipulate data in a variety of formats, such as XML, JSON, CSV
- SQL and/or NoSQL data stores
- Source codes control tools, such as Git
- Demonstrate passion and quick learning ability for staying ahead of the tech curve: constantly experimenting with new frameworks and technology
- Able to translate business problems into technical solutions
- Experience working in an agile team environment
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
