Job Description
Position Overview
You’ll plan and direct all aspects of product engineering that relate to outdoor consumer lighting product development. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. Provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/ policies/ procedures to support the functional infrastructure of a factory locates in Dongguan.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for meeting NPI timelines, quality and customer expectation
- Applies DFMEA process in NPI process and builds knowledge database to standardize best design practice
- Identifies product and process improvements in efficiency and quality
- Mentors and coaches Engineering Team members
- Conducts KPI performance review of team members and provide coaching when necessary
- Manages R&D department's annual budget regularly
- Collaborates pers teams at factory and HK Headquarter
- Works closely with Project Management Team and Sales Team to fulfill customer needs
- Works with outside consultants when necessary to support engineering and testing projects
Proficiencies
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Solid experience on leading engineering team with technical background in ME/EE function
- Excellent analytical ability with a passion for world class product development
- Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing timelines
- Sensitive to product and performance management - result oriented
- Experience in macro product development project management
Education and Experience
- 10+ years of R&D experience, and 5 years manager experience in consumer electronic/lighting products
- Solid knowledge of product manufacturing including: electronic, plastic injection molding, metal forming, SMT
- University Engineering Degree, preferably electronic engineering or related
