About the Role

An exciting and fast-paced challenge with Pirata Group’s Marketing department, this is an enticing opportunity to work on the brand side of PR & Communications. Your client is in-house, and you’ll be empowered with direct resources to drive meaningful results with mainstream media, influencers, VIPs, and guests.

Working closely with a Communications Manager, you will be a key player in delivering high impact publicity.

This role is the equivalent of a Senior Account Executive in a PR agency. If you’re ready to take a step up in your career, we’d love to hear from you.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ownership of media and influencer hosting schedule
  • Direct pitching of engaging content to journalists and influencers on an ongoing basis
  • Coordination with internal and external stakeholders in media-related activities
  • Media listening including social inboxes and comments, and respond appropriately when required
  • Internal communications trafficking and resolution
  • Monthly report & clipping report preparation
  • Write in English for documents such as press releases, media pitches, social copy, product notes, research notes, briefing notes etc.
  • Press materials translation
  • Participate in brainstorming fresh ideas for PR campaigns
  • Support in delivering in-house campaigns and events


Requirements

  • Prior experience working in a PR agency, press office or fast-paced media environment
  • English & Traditional Chinese language fluency. You need to have excellent written and spoken English and Traditional Chinese
  • Copywriting skills. You need to be a stickler for spelling, grammar and proof-reading, as well as have a creative flair for producing engaging copy
  • Excellent communication skills. You will be communicating at a high volume, across all levels, internally and externally. Your communication needs to be clear, precise and actionable
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Whether it’s over the phone, by email or in person, PR is all about people, so you need to be approachable, friendly and empathetic, and be able to relate to people on different levels within the agency, with clients and with the media
  • Excellent telephone manner. You will spend a lot of your time pitching stories and campaigns to journalists and influencers, so you need to have the confidence to pick up the phone and speak to them and maintain a positive, friendly and upbeat tone
  • Time-keeping. You will often be working to tight media deadlines as well as meeting internal timelines, so you need to be able to work quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality
  • Resilience. You need to be courageous enough to pick up the phone to senior journalists and resilient enough to handle criticism and rejection
