Job Description

The Infrastructure Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver infrastructure project(s) that span across one or more business units. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The Infrastructure Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. They will verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of complex infrastructure initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business.
  • Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
  • Demonstrate project functional acumen.
  • Manage project scope and changes.
  • Act as an internal quality control check for the project.
  • Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher with Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years project management experience and 4 years Digital Technology Project experience including compute, hosting, storage, and network infrastructure migrations.
  • Ability to business resources as well as 3rd party partners, providers, and other subject matter experts.
  • Knowledge of Cisco enterprise solutions, Windows, and Linux a plus
  • Strong track record of project delivery and benefits realization
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and coaching others in IT Project Management methodologies, proven track record managing multiple projects.
  • Experience in the identification, assessment, and management of risks; able to manage the risks, not just the risk list.
  • Expertise in Portfolio/Demand management concepts and benefits; proven track record of implementing these concepts and delivering PPM benefits.
  • Has a flexible approach to change, can work effectively in a variety of situations, constantly seeks improvements and is forward looking.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills. Able to overcome obstacles to move forward.
  • Excellent presentation and meeting leader skills. Able to prepare and present information in business terms.
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and facilitation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, Self-starter / self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in developing effective partnership relationships with portfolio stakeholders. Committed to providing excellent customer service.
  • Accountable for the delivery of outcomes, strives to meet and exceed expectations.
