Job Description

Responsibilities:

  •  Collaborate with Product Owners and different business stakeholders to understand business challenges, and identify user needs to deliver the product vision
  • Conduct analysis and drive workshops to define forward-looking business requirements and assist in defining the product roadmap
  • Work closely with both business and technology stakeholders to identify problems, elicit key business needs and create a prioritized backlog of requirements based on business value.
  • Translate business, functional, and technical requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria for development within agile teams.
  • Collaborate with UX and UI teams to ensure the usability needs are met and requirements are reflected appropriately
  • Supplement business requirements as needed with business process flows, data mapping and gap analysis
  • Verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
  • Work closely with technical development teams to provide functional inputs for system impact analysis and clarify questions as needed
  • Work closely within the Agile development teams to ensure the development of the backlog items prioritized for the sprint.
  • Own a section of the backlog of requirements and act as the SME and bridge between business and technology.
  • Contribute as a functional expert in a defined Insurance domain/business area as part of a business competency centre
  • Assist in performing market analysis and benchmarking on key business areas to understand gaps compared to the competition on business focus areas
  • Assist in user onboarding to the product with documentation and user training as needed

Experience:

  • University Graduate and above
  • Min 5 years of experience in the Insurance industry with proven experience as a Business, Functional SME, Product Owner or Business Analyst
  • 6+ years experience in sizable IT projects or large organizations acting in the capacity of a Business Analyst
  • Experience and knowledge of core insurance products, channels, customer behaviours and any related technologies
  • Areas in Insurance such as PoS solutions or PAS, underwriting transformation, and Product Configuration are necessary experiences.
  • Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle, and with a broad range of platforms, including transitioning from legacy systems to digital.
  • Experience and capabilities in handling multiple projects at once would be very advantageous.
  • Experience with Migration from Legacy to Digital will be very advantageous.
  • Experience in Agile and Agile Toolsets (JIRA, Confluence) would be an advantage
  • Ability to work in Waterfall, Hybrid or Agile approaches as per project needs
  • Ability to speak in business and technology terms, as well as the ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
  • Must be able to break problems down, analyse data, drill into problem statements, ask the right questions to really understand root causes and then solutions around issues to drive business value.
  • Able to work in a complex environment with a mix of technologies and different levels of IT maturities across multiple business units.
  • Must possess good problem-solving skills for large complicated and broad issues and be able to work independently, with keen attention to details
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and inter-personnel skills
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with stakeholders
  • Fluent in English
