Job Description

Senior Scientific Officer/Scientific Officer in the Hong Kong Institute for Data Science [Ref. A/627/03]

Duties

Assist in identifying industrial collaboration opportunities, and liaise with stakeholders for strategic partnership;
Administer consultancy contracts, service agreements and MOUs for industrial collaborations;
Prepare and compile reports and statistics for industrial projects;
Support the management of joint-laboratory collaborations;
Promote and administer HKIDS-funded opportunities and initiatives;
Assist the Director in monitoring the budget and expenditure of HKIDS-funded projects;
Coordinate IP initiatives and its commercialization within the Institute;
Coordinate outreach activities, industrial networking and community relations;
Provide committee service to the Institute Advisory Committee;
Conduct safety audit to meet compliance standards;
Act as computing service and network administrator; and
Monitor data update and administer the use of data for the Institute and research projects

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Data Science or STEM related disciplines, with at least 10 years’ experience in industrial research and/or project management. Strong problem solving and management skills, excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), ability to perform multi-tasks and work under pressure are required.

Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Scientific Officer.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
