Specialist / Assistant Specialist (User Services) (Ref. 220819024-JCS)

Duties

The appointee will be required to work in the User Services Section and required to:

(a)    provide technical support and assistance to the University’s staff, students, users and clients at the ITS Help Centre via hotlines, on-site on-campus and off-campus and other established channels;

(b)    install, maintain and troubleshoot various computer systems, including desktop equipment and software, in particular PCs, Mac, mobile/tablet devices, Microsoft O365, Microsoft Office and other popular software;

(c)    liaise with users, staff, students and other parties to solve users’ IT-related problems;

(d)    perform evaluation, implementation, administration, review and enhancement of the new systems;

(e)    prepare user guides and training materials, and conduct user training demonstrations and workshops;

(f)     work on shift and provide support on a roster basis, as required; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)     have a recognized degree, or a higher diploma or diploma with not less than three years of relevant experience;

(b)    preferably have relevant working experience; and

(c)    be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Appointment will be on a one-year gratuity-bearing contract.   

The posts are funded by the Job Creation Scheme (JCS) under Anti-epidemic Fund of the Government.  Applicants should be Hong Kong residents with a valid Hong Kong Identity Card.  Existing staff members of the University are not eligible for application under the JCS.
