Responsibilities:

1. Deliver computational support
   • Create novel computational approaches and analytical tools as required by research or clinical goals.
2. Develop data models and databases
   • Manipulate publicly accessible, commercial, or proprietary genomic, proteomic, or post-genomic databases
3. Develop clinical NGS pipelines
   • Analyse large molecular datasets such as raw microarray data, genomic sequence data, and proteomics data for clinical or basic research purposes
4. Develop cloud environment
   • Create or modify web-based bioinformatics tools
5. R&D for NGS services
   • Create, implement, and use analytical and bioinformatics tools to analyse and interpret multidimensional data
6. Ability to work as a team

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

1. Possess a MSc/PHD in bioinformatics, biomathematics/statistics or other related discipline
2. Have strong expertise/publication records in application of R, Python, Perl, Java or other programming languages
3. Research experience in genomic data and algorithm development would be an advantage
4. Registration at the Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologists (HKMLT) Board (or a qualification that can be registered) is an advantage
5. A good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin
6. Strong communication skills, detail orientated and hard working
