Overview of job

GroupM APAC Regional Finance is looking for a Regional Assistant Finance Manager / Accountant (12-month contract) with demonstrated experiences to support the consolidated management reporting and financial analytics for the region.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to Regional Financial Controller of GroupM APAC Finance.

Measures of success –

In 3 months, you would have:

  • You will be in pace with the GroupM’s value proposition and familiar with the company culture.
  • Understand the P&L structures and reporting requirements.
  • Understand the BFC reporting system, perform the data extraction and reconciliation by modifying the data extraction templates.

In 6 months, you would have:

  • Good relationship built with the key stakeholders.
  • Familiar with the monthly reporting requirement and process.
  • Set up new reporting and data template to support the reporting and analysis requirement.

In 12 months, you would have:

  • Processed a solid understanding of the regional reporting and analysis framework.
  • Familiar with the quarterly reporting, forecast and budget processes.
  • Able to highlight the risk and share ideas for improving the work process and reporting effectiveness.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Support the communication of the Global and Regional reporting requirements to the country finance.
  • To ensure the country financial reports are submitted on time with good quality, to manage the month end closing process efficiently and support the forecast and budget reporting work.
  • Review the financial reports submitted from Country, provide variance commentary and highlight risk to management.
  • Responsible to maintain the master data information and data extraction templates.
  • Responsible for intercompany transactions review and follow up the exceptions with country finance and other network offices.
  • Support the regional local office accounting and finance work, including month end closing and reporting, statutory filings, external and internal audits.
  • Ensure the compliance of regional reporting to SOX, company policies and Global reporting requirements.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects, e.g. participates in system testing, business case review, process improvement project etc.

What you will need

  • Tertiary education in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.   Qualified accountant is preferred.
  • 4-5 years of accounting and finance experience with preferably regional offices, listed or sizable companies.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Independent, attentive to details, organized, proactive and eager to learn.  Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast pace environment.
  • Fluency in both Chinese and English.
  • High proficient in MS office (Excel and macros).  Experience in Hyperion, SAP or similar consolidation and reporting applications is a definite advantage.
  • Immediate available is highly preferred
