Job Description
We are looking for a high caliber individual to join the Group Tax & Structuring in our Group Finance. Reporting to the Associate Director – Group Tax & Structuring, the appointee will be a key member of the department to provide expert advice on a variety of tax and structuring issues to business units operating in the Asia-Pacific region. Key responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
- Analyze a wide range of business and cross-border transactions including tax research and issue identification, and advise tax exposure and/or alternative solutions
- Assist in devising tax plans and tax efficient structures / tools to meet business objectives, ensure tax and regulatory compliance, and manage tax and transaction risks
- Support tax aspects of business development activities, review tax assumptions / issues, and assess potential tax exposure and risk mitigation measures
- Monitor tax development in the region and timely identify / manage tax risks and opportunities to the Group
- Monitor tax compliance activities and exposures within the Group, including collaboration with local finance / tax teams on tax provisions, tax audits and dispute resolution proceedings
- Assist with other ad hoc projects as assigned
Requirements
- A recognized university degree in the relevant area (e.g. Taxation and Accounting) and professional qualification in accounting, taxation or relevant disciplines
- Minimum seven years’ relevant working experience gained from Big 4 and / or MNCs, preferably with solid experience in advisory on regional tax and structuring issues
- Strong technical knowledge of the tax regulatory requirements and tax development over the region, preferably including PRC and / or Australia
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills with business acumen
- Self-motivated, fast learner and have strong sense of responsibility and be able to work well under pressure in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment
- Must be at least bi-lingual, including English and Mandarin
- Familiar with energy industry and its latest developments a plus
