Job Description
Title: Head of Claims - P&C
Location: Central, Hong Kong
Our client is a leading Chinese General Insurer in Hong Kong looking to hire a professional in P&C Claims.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operation of claims, improving and implementing new practice for improvement of operation effectiveness
- Responsible to manage and drive Claims team to become one of the strategic units in the long-term development of the Company
- Support the GMO in promoting the Company’s market position.
- Handle difficult and complicated claims, working closely with solicitors, loss adjusters and other departments
- Review reserves so that they are kept up to date.
- Recoup our outlays from a negligent party after settlement under the original policy by way of recovery action.
- Attend meetings and negotiations leading to an amicable settlement of claims.
- Approve and settle claims within authority on behalf of the Company.

- Focus on the loss area to suggest solutions to reduce our loss or risks.
- Ensure claims are under control and report large claim incident to GMO immediately.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Insurance/legal or related disciplines.
- Senior Associate ANZIIF will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in or other related insurance experience in general insurance industry.
- Motivating team player with proactive working attitude, strong sense of responsibilities and willing to take up new challenges.
- Independent and capable of multi-tasking with effective problem solving and project management skills.
- Willing to work under pressure.
- Good command in both written and spoken English, Chinese and Mandarin is a must
- Excellent communication, analytical and writing skills.
