Job Description
The Job- What you will be working on
- Market research and analysis on new products and technologies
- Follow-up ideas and suggestions for product development from the market, customers, and in-house teams
- Make proposals for product development projects to the Management
- Manage and coordinate the approved product development projects
- Work closely together with the Product Design Dept. and Merchandising Dept. on the product development projects
- Liaise with potential suppliers from product sourcing for innovative development of new products
- Cooperate with the Technical Dept. to build-up technical specifications, to define specific measurement for testing product quality that complies with certification standards & customer requirements
- Support the Merchandising Teams to identify potential product cost savings
- Develop mechanical designs for prototype testing using 3D CAD software
- Analyse and control all aspects of the developing new products, to ensure the compliance of specifications, quality, status, appearance, designs, certifications, colours, materials or styles, product sample testing and reporting
- Collect and analyse feedback on the new developing products from the market
- Define and carry out the measures to improve the new developing products according to the market feedback
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Product Engineering or related discipline
- At least 10 years product development management experience in consumer products and smart appliances industries for European markets
- Excellent technical ability in a wide range of small domestic appliances and consumer electronics related areas
- Good knowledge of European requirements for product certification regulations
- Highly self-motivated, able to work independently, creative and organized, with attention to detail
- Strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Proficient in 3D CAD software for design and validation (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience in presentation & visual software (Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint etc.)
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Mandarin and Cantonese an advantage
- Based in Hong Kong office with occasional travel in China
- Ad hoc projects as assigned by the company
